Honda Ridgeline is a pickup (all-wheel-driven) that is based on Acura MDX. The car was initially introduced to people as Honda SUT concept in 2004. Large-scale manufacturing of the model began in 2005, with a light facelift of the Ridgeline in 2009 and 2011.

Although there were a few efforts to update the looks of the Ridgeline, the rudimentary design features of the pickup have remained virtually the same since the very start of the manufacturing process. The cosmetic revisions were mainly on the style of the grille and the rim of the wheels. The most notable was probably the introduction of the Sport version having a black grill and headlamp housings, 18 inch alloy wheels, leather steering-wheel trim, and all weather floor mats.

Meanwhile, Honda engineers take much care of the efficiency of the engine of Ridgeline. The 3.5 liter, naturally aspirated V6 of the facelifted 2011 pickup was smoothed out to minimize friction losses. Consequently, the fuel consumption was reduced by 1.8L to 11.2L at the same power output (250 hp) and torque (350 Nm). The engine comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission that has Grade Logic Control. The special feature of it is that the electronics determine the gear and point of shifting based on the conditions on the road.

Of other interesting features, it is notable that the Honda Ridgeline has all-wheel-drive system featuring an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch in the rear axle. The pickup has a towing capacity of 2,268 kg and a cargo carrying capacity of 680 kg.

The Honda Ridgeline was manufactured in Alliston, Ontario, Canada until 2009 when it was transferred to the United States (Lincoln, Alabama).
