Honda has already done little to the Ridgeline in 2026: It is the same second-generation pickup that was introduced in 2017, and only slightly changed in cosmetic and technical aspects in 2021. The model is a crew-cab, monocoque, and spacious, pickup and a naturally aspirated V6 engine under the hood, a vehicle that has its own kind of strengths as compared to most of the midsize trucks. Comfortable ride, utilitarian interior, high-quality construction, and good handling continue to make the Ridgeline stand out, but it occupies a new automotive realm in 2026: the competition among compact and midsize pickups has become much tougher.

The Ridgeline Was the Size of a Side Street Why the Ridgeline Was the Right Size in 2017, But Is Mediocre Now.
At the time of the launch of the second-generation Ridgeline in 2017, the market did not have any such competitors as the Ford Maverick or the comfortable Hyundai Santa Cruz. Hybrids of the popular midsize pickups, like the Toyota Tacoma, are not yet popular. The Ridgeline at the time was a pickup truck design that provided an owner-friendly ownership experience without much of the shortcomings of a traditional frame-and-frame design. The scope of competitive beauty as well as the technical sophistication has grown today and this is providing severe challenges to Honda.

There are also natural aspirated V6 that has advantages and disadvantages.

The Ridgeline is also among the very few midsize pickups which still has a naturally aspirated V6 engine, as opposed to a turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain. It has a 3.5 liter V6 that has a power of 280 hp (209 kW) and a torque of 262 lb-ft (approximately 355 Nm). It has a nine-speed automatics transmission and standard all-wheel drive. In practice, the engine is good enough: it has got enough power, the acceleration is assured yet not overly drippy, and changes of gears are smooth.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) claims that the Ridgeline achieves a ratio of 21 mpg on average, and 25 and 24 in the city and on the highway, respectively. The TrailSport trim has a loss of approximately 1 mpg (approximately 25 mpg) in the combined cycle. That is a big improvement over most models of the Toyota Tacoma or Ford Ranger, and is rather equal to the Nissan Frontier V6. This premium charged on naturally aspirated V6 in the form of extra fuel consumption is particularly conspicuous against the backdrop of compact hybrid pickups: for instance, the Ford Maverick in a hybrid form is even displaying as much as 38 mpg combined – approximately 6.2 l/100 km that is, more than twice the good economy under the same circumstances.

In looking at the other engines Honda has put out in its product range, and what they did with the brothers of the Ridgeline a Passport and Pilot SUV, it is not likely that we will find a hybrid four-cylinder engine in the Ridgeline in the near future. The Pilot and Passport are now fitted with an improved DOHC V6 and a 10-speed automatic transmission and in efficiency is practically the same as that in the Ridgeline.

Though it might sound odd to you, you must be informed that the Japanese manufacturer Honda has a pick-up vehicle in its model line group. Another thing you must remember is that this is a Honda Ridgeline available in the United States only and one of the oldest models that they continue to offer to the market since the second-generation version was introduced to the market way back in 2017. Nevertheless, instead of requesting the change, the Japanese corporation has resolved to modernize it once again on the other side of the ocean.

As it might be apparent at the first look, there are no modifications to this Honda Ridgeline as it maintains its exterior design. There is not even a grille alteration, all the way to the rear lights of this 5.39 meter-long pick-up that is two centimeters longer than a Ford Ranger. This pick-up has only a single addition this season, namely only a double-cab option of the body, but it has an impact on the color.

The designers in the Japanese firm have increased varieties of colors to the Honda Ridgeline that can now be ordered in this latest Ash Green Metallic. Actually, the shade was first featured on the Passport TrailSport, which has recently come on the CR-V TrailSport Hybrid. Also, the Black Edition is now available with a roof that is finished in black in order to contrast with the other parts of the car when it is bought in Sonic Gray Pearl or Platinum White Pearl.

Besides these modifications connected to the color palette, the Honda Ridgeline is precisely as it was in the United States, though there is one more detail that will not be liked by all who consider purchasing one of the pick-ups offered by the Japanese brand because the company has also chosen to raise the prices during this new season.
