2012 Honda CR-Z is a unique car that combines the advantages of a stylish coupe body with an eco-friendly, efficient hybrid system and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Honda CR-Z is a striking coupe designed to change the traditional perception of hybrids thanks to its chassis, a driver-focused cabin layout, and a responsive 1.5-liter engine with a parallel-type IMA hybrid system. Together, they deliver maximum driving enjoyment while offering strong fuel economy and low emissions.

The exterior of the Honda CR-Z is based on the concept of a “wedge drawn in a single stroke,” with a low hood line and a wide stance that give the car a confident, athletic look. Signature Honda design cues—such as the split rear window opening and the aerodynamic, low, sloping roofline—were implemented in the coupe’s design and organically combined with an attractive, sculpted exterior shape.

The combined output of the gasoline engine and hybrid system is 128 hp, with torque of 174 Nm. The torque peak is similar to that of the 1.8-liter engine used in the Civic. It is achieved at just 1,500 rpm, which is unusually low for a naturally aspirated engine without forced induction. At the same time, the Honda CR-Z’s engine produces 35 g/km less CO2 than its counterpart used in the Civic. Emissions of other harmful substances are also very low.

The Honda CR-Z has a 2+2 seating layout. The second row is intended for shorter adults or children. The rear seats can be folded down with a single simple motion, providing a flat luggage area with a volume of 382 liters, comparable to a C-segment hatchback. The two-level cargo compartment has a 19-liter lower storage section for additional items.
