Honda Accord 2012 is a 4-wheel-driven D-segment car. In August 2012, the ninth generation model was shown at the Hot Air Balloon Festival in the U.S. state of Ohio, and was its world premiere.

The biggest news of the release of the ninth-generation Honda Accord was that the most famous car could no longer be divided into two versions the American and the European one. The Accord was virtually unified across all the markets with small exceptions depending on the country. In the case of the CIS, as an example, the Japanese equipped the level were not the same as that of the Americans. The sedan can be equipped in keyless entry, dual-zone climate control and air filtration feature, multimedia infotainment system with an 8-inch display, blind-spot monitoring, rearview camera, traction control, lane-keeping technology, six airbags, etc., depending on the version.

Honda Accord 2012 is the ninth generation that was made shorter than its American counterpart, yet it was longer than the European version. This is the same case with the wheelbase that had settled at 2.77 meters. The trunk of the sedan had increased, however, to 479 liters as compared to 464 liters. And that is by no means all of the changes. The engineers of Honda worked hard to develop the body rigidity and lighten it by a big margin. And they apparently succeeded in their mission, as well as refurbishing the suspension, steering, and other parts.

The engine system of the Accord consists of two gasoline engines. The former is a 2.4 liter i-VTEC inline-four with 180 hp capacity and either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic. The second is a 3.5-liter V6 that has a power of 280 hp and the new generation of the VCM system deactivating two or three cylinders in light loads. In its case, the Japanese provided the Japanese with a 6-speed automatic transmission only. At the same time, both engines were made lighter and more efficient.
