Honda Civic Sedan is a U.S.A. front-wheel-drive C-segment sedan. The tenth generation was released in September 2015.
The Japanese redesigned the Civic wholesomely, recreating all lines and recalculating all chassis components. The sedan was thus resized, with a 2.7 meter (+3 cm) wheelbase, a 1.8 meter (+5 cm) width and 1.41 meter (−2 cm) height. Meanwhile, the car is mounted on a new platform, and the front struts of the car are MacPherson, and the rear is using a multi-link suspension on a stiffer subframe. Moreover, the ratio of ultra-high-strength steel in the body was increased by 1 to 12, which raised torsional rigidity by 25 percent, as well as enabling a weight to be reduced by 31 kg.
In the list of the numerous innovations of the tenth-generation Civic, it is worth mentioning the hydraulic bushings, a variable-ratio steering mechanism, and a torque-vectoring system that operates during the corner by braking the necessary wheel. All this was positively impacting management and, quite obviously, security. The latter became also improved with the adaptive cruise control supported with Low-Speed Follow, which enables the car to follow the car in front of it and select the distance between the two. Until now, this type of system only came with Acuras and now, it comes on a Honda. There is also the Honda Sensing safety suite in the sedan that incorporates road-departure warning system.
Honda Civic Sedan is driven with two engines. The former is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated i-VTEC that has 160 hp. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or an M-CVT. The second is a 1.5-liter Earth Dreams VTI Turbo that is a direct-injected, 175 hp inline-four. It is powered by an LL-CVT, by the way not the same as the one supplied with the 2.0-liter engine. The most cost-effective model of the sedan uses an average of 5.8 liters of gasoline every 100 km.
The Civic to be produced in North America is established in the United States and Canada plants of Honda.
