The model dates its history to 1995 when Honda desired to come up with an alternative to the compact cars and minivans to cater to the families and active lifestyles. Nobody knows, however, that the CR-V will become one of the pioneers of existing crossovers and that it will evolve in six generations! They were known to be sellers, the world and the Ukrainian market. Cars of the first generation are also becoming significantly congested in our roads before they can even talk. I particularly liked the third and fourth generation CR-Vs.

Options and modifications

There are three trim levels of the new CR-V E:HEV namely Elegance, Elegance+ and Advance. The Elegance+ one-drive model is underlined by the price position, around $49000. Test car of Elegance 4WD at about $50,500. Therefore, the Elegance package costs slightly more to drive, and does not offer such options as the front cross-bar information system (FCTW), the rear cross-bar warning system (LCCM) and the warm up the kerma because of availability of all-wheel drive. We have not so much on our test car, and it is amazing, as it is equipped, and costs more than two million dollars. And Elegance+, an all-wheel drive and premium Advance.

The CR-V plug-in hybrid, which is a rechargeable hybrid, is also modified.

Design

The new SR-V has increased in size over a generation. The wheelbase has also grown by 40 mm and the length of the wheelbase is 69 mm longer. It was also made more appealing to the eye by the designers, the hood became flat and long, and the front pillars were pressed slightly behind the car.

After the eleventh-generation Civic, Honda decided to give a bigger hood on visual grounds, shifting the A-pillars by 119 mm. The front pillar support was also relocated 71 mm upwards and was now 35.6 mm downwards than the front CR-V.

To introduce a Honda CR-V model in the 2026 model year, the brand is redesigned and repackaged in four distinct models: two gasoline engine models and two with Hybrid (HEV) powertrains. The versions offered include Turbo Plus, Touring, Touring HEV and the new Sport Touring HEV.

The HEV variants are characterized by the fourth generation of two-motor hybrid-electric system consisting of a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and two electric motors that provide 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque which put the CR-V Hybrid in the range of the most powerful in its category.

New Sport Touring HEV: Hybrid AWD traction.

The best of the line is the Honda CR-V Sport Touring HEV which is the first car to incorporate an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. This design is meant to provide a superior traction and stability on a variety of roads, without compromising efficiency or comfort.

The Hybrid powertrain has been combined with the AWD, and the provision of the model provides a seamless, instantaneous, and effective delivery of power, which confirms the technological nature of the model and adds to its abilities beyond the urban asphalt.

Outside architecture that is present and has personality.

The Honda CR-V in the sixth generation is still sophisticated and robust in exterior design, and also features a horizontal beltline, which emphasizes a bigger body. The increased wheelbase and the expanded tracks can be translated into the increased stability and the increased presence.

The HEV versions also have unique features, including an altered front fascia with the accents in silver on the Touring HEV, and a chromed exhaust, which underlines their belonging to the line. Since it is expected that 2026 can be another year of Honda, the policy of selling cars at a premium also appears to be evolving since the CR-V price was reduced in Europe, and the midsize SUV is one that will be renewed. It is aimed at boosting its sales and making the new one more prominent sooner than before.

Instead of working on a particular version, the Japanese brand opted to reduce the price of the whole CR-V range to the extent that it can demonstrate that it has the best price to product ratio in one of the already competitive segments in the old continent. Actually, the same offer concerns the self-charging hybrids (e:HEV) as well as the plug-in hybrid (e:PHEV).

You could speak of a before and after- and not due to the fact that the model itself is still the same as that of 2023. The latter was rather controversial in terms of its price, as the cheapest version cost 51,545 euros (59,902 dollars). They are currently all reduced by approximately 10 percent and the new numbers are even more shocking considering the inflation rates during the past two years and four months.

One may say that, due to such discount, Honda CR-V turned out to be not only above in Spain, but also highly competitive and even having a superior price-quality ratio to the Nissan X-Trail, Toyota RAV4, and Volkswagen Tiguan, to name a few.
