Honda Civic Type R (FK8) is a front-wheel-drive five-door C-segment hatch, charged. The fifth generation model chassis FK8. In September 2016, the prototype was shown in the Paris Motor Show, and in March 2017 the production model was shown during the world premiere in the Geneva Motor Show.

The Civic base models are quite different in terms of technical aspects as well as design. This was due to the fact that the model was fitted with such a high-performance engine with a manual gearbox and a totally redesigned suspension that allowed the car to set a lap record among the front-wheel-drives at Nürburgring (with a time of only 7 minutes 43.8 seconds). It has a 2.0 VTEC, turbocharged engine with 320 hp power and the given engine has 400 Nm of torque between 2,500-4,500 rpm. The 6-speed manual transmission includes its liquid-cooling circuit. It is due to this that the car can accelerate to 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds and accelerate to 272km/h. Besides this, the car is also capable of blipping throttle automatically to minimize jerks when changing gears. It also takes corners fast with the aid of a limited-slip differential.

The Type R suspension design resembles the normal one: MacPherson struts on the front and multi-link design on the rear. However, the inclination of the front struts is varied, the rear suspension limbs are strengthened, and of course, the spring and damper properties are adjusted. There are three modes of dampers Comfort, Sport, and the most aggressive +R. The steering response and throttle mapping are also altered in the suspension settings. About the brakes: there are 350 mm ventilated four-piston up front discs and 305 mm disc brakes at the rear.

The differences in the exterior do not allow confusing the base version with the charged one-unless you are a highly inexperienced person. The hood was equipped with an air intake, the grille was modified and more intakes were added outboard of the fog lights. The arches got muscular and the cladding of the body all around was black and red line decorated the area. Red detailing was also done on the badges and the 20-inch wheels. The car has a huge wing and three exhaust pipes indicating the breed at the back. It has much red (stitching, badges, plastic trim), carbon, and mixed upholstery and, of course, sporty bucket seats inside.

Concerning the equipment, the Honda Civic Type R may be equipped with a navigation and a 7-inch multimedia unit, an 11-speaker sound system, dual-zoned climate control, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning system, a parking assist system (with smart camera on the rear) and other electronic aids.

Civic Hatcheback
Civic Hatcheback is a front-wheel-drive C-segment hatch. The tenth-generation European version of a facelift. Hatchback was launched on August 15, 2019.

In the Honda major market, the United States, the Civic model is phenomenally successful (it is the highest selling in its category). Thus, the car versions of the American origin were initially influenced by modernization, and only later by the European ones. And because the pre-facelift Civic suited the American market, the differences made to the model, including the European one, are negligible.

The facelift version is identified by the front bumper consisting of matte inserts on the fog lights (where before it was imitated with grille) and horizontal items in the shape of boomerang, painted in body color. The shape of the signature grille and tinted headlamp units are slightly retouched, but can only be detected at the front. The imitation air vents on the rear bumper were also decorated in a similar manner as the front ones. No fewer than new alloy-wheel designs also emerged (largest size is 18 inches). Standard headlamps are LED headlamps.

The changes within are even more modest. Some other new features that can be considered tactile include a dedicated physical volume control, physical buttons replacing touch functions on trims with the 7-inch touchscreen, and more fan-speed control buttons. Moreover, the infotainment system received the add-ons of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and on the list of equipments, there is wireless smartphone charging. The total cabin comfort also ought to be enhanced, as the Civic also acquired more sound insulation to the floor, trunk, and wheel arches.

The armrest is fitted in the rear bench. It can be folded in a 60:40 split. The cavities in the trunk hold 478 liters.

The facelifted Honda Civic is available in two powertrains. They are 1.0 and 1.5 liters VTEC Turbo gasoline engines. They build 126 hp (200 Nm) and 182 hp (240 Nm) respectively. The engines are combined with either 6-speed manual or CVT. Drive is all front-wheel. The model has a rear multi-link suspension in all models, and more sophisticated versions have adaptive dampers.

Some of the devices in the equipment list on the Civic are the leather interior, panorama roof, keyless entry, heated front seats and power lumbar adjustment, and the two-zone climate control. It has front and rear parking sensors, wide-angle rearview camera. All cars in Europe have a set of Honda Sensing electronic assistants, no matter the level of trim: adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, lane-keeping assist and traffic-sign recognition.
